Job description

Description language:

About the Position

We are hiring a Business Analyst to join our team in a fully remote setup. The Business Analyst will act as a bridge between our clients and the delivery team, ensuring that business goals are translated into clear, testable requirements. This role involves working closely with Project Managers, Software Engineers, QA, and UI/UX Designers, as well as directly with clients and their stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Turn client business goals into build-ready backlog items with clear business goals, acceptance criteria, key edge cases, and known dependencies.
  • Maintain a shared understanding with the client, ensuring they know what we are building each sprint and why.
  • Together with the PM, maintain a healthy, prioritized backlog with enough refined work for at least 2 sprints ahead.
  • Analyze scope changes (impact on time, cost, quality, and dependencies) before they are accepted, and surface risks and unknowns early.
  • Lead or co-lead discovery for new initiatives to ensure the team knows what to build, what to skip, and what success looks like.
  • Maintain clear and up-to-date project documentation in the knowledge center as the single source of truth.
  • Continuously improve how we capture requirements, refining templates, refinement habits, and ways of working.

Requirements

Previous Experience

  • 3+ years of experience as a Business Analyst in an outsourced/service company setting, working directly with external clients.
  • Experience analyzing requirements across more than one industry is a plus.
  • English: Upper-Intermediate or higher (written and verbal) - required for client-facing communication.

Core Business Analysis Skills

  • Domain & Discovery: Quickly learns the client's business across any industry we serve, asks the questions that surface the real problem, and is comfortable running interviews, workshops, story mapping, and lightweight prototyping.
  • Requirements Craft: Writes specs that engineering can actually build - user stories with clear acceptance criteria, relevant non-functional needs (performance, security, integrations), and edge cases caught before the sprint, not during it.
  • Single Source of Truth: Keeps decisions, rules, and open questions in the knowledge center and issue tracker - not in chat threads or someone's memory.
  • Technical Fluency: Reads API docs and data models, follows feasibility discussions, and partners with engineers - while respecting the line between business requirements and technical design.
  • Collaboration & Written Communication: Translates business language for engineers and engineering reality for clients; communicates clearly in writing, which is essential for remote work.

Technical Skills

  • Solid understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Agile/Scrum ways of working.
  • Hands-on experience writing user stories, acceptance criteria, and non-functional requirements.
  • Practical experience with discovery techniques - stakeholder interviews, workshops, user story mapping, simple flow diagrams or wireframes.
  • Able to read API documentation and reason about data models to validate feasibility with engineers.
  • Familiarity with backlog refinement, scope-change impact analysis, and risk surfacing.

We Offer

  • Competitive compensation with regular performance reviews.
  • 20 compensated vacation days during the calendar year.
  • Days off during all national holidays.
  • 7 days of compensated sick leaves during the year (no special medical documents are required).
  • After a probationary period (3 months), an additional budget for health, education, or entertainment expenses (on your choice).
  • Comfortable work schedule (9/10/11 AM - 6/7/8 PM your local time).
  • Work fully remotely or hybrid (on your choice).

Hiring Process

The whole interview process will include 4–5 rounds (this may vary per role) of meetings with various people from your future team, hiring managers, and leadership.

Apply Online

After submitting your online application, our recruiting team will review it to see how your skills, experience, and our job needs align. If there is no fit at the moment, we will add your CV to our database and will contact you when a relevant position appears.

Recruiter Screen

If we think there could be a fit, our recruiter will contact you to set up a 30-min video call to explore your relevant skills, experience, and what you're looking for in a new opportunity. The recruiter screen also allows you to learn more about the role and Axon culture.

Technical Interview

If the recruiter determines your skill set may be a match for the role, you'll be invited to a technical interview, which is typically an hour long. You’ll meet with a hiring manager who will dive deeper into the evaluation of your technical skills and give you an overview of a project, team, and the expectations for the role.

Managerial Interview (optional)

If that goes well, you'll be invited to a final stage where you'll meet with the line Manager for your position, usually it is a 30-min video call. This call is for personal acquaintance and to assess your long-term growth potential at Axon and let you ask more questions about our strategy and vision.

Decision & Offer

It's time to finalize the hiring process. Whether you’re successful with us or not, your recruiter will reach out to you with our decision, usually it takes 1 week. If the hiring manager decides to move forward, our legal team will extend an offer in the shortest time, and your recruiter will come back to you to handle negotiation and all concerns to make our future cooperation as comfortable as possible.
