Business Analyst - Asset and Liability Management / Interest Rate Risk

Role Summary
As a Business Analyst within the Asset & Liability Management (ALM) department, you'll play a key role in shaping and implementing ING's global ALM solutions. You'll work with stakeholders across Risk, Treasury, Finance, Modeling, and Technology to deliver enhancements, improve reporting processes, and support regulatory initiatives.
You will contribute to ING's strategic ambition of building a standardized global platform for Interest Rate Risk in the Banking Book (IRRBB) and forecasting capabilities, helping drive consistency and efficiency across multiple ING locations worldwide.
Responsibilities
- Own, maintain, and continuously improve ALM and IRRBB processes and reporting workflows.
- Analyze business requirements and translate complex needs into practical, scalable solutions.
- Perform data analysis, validation activities, and root cause investigations.
- Support the implementation of new functionalities, process enhancements, and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with stakeholders across Risk, Finance, Treasury, and Technology teams.
- Coordinate testing activities, production releases, and business sign-offs.
- Help ensure operational stability while driving continuous improvement initiatives.
About the Team
You'll join the ALM Service Squad, part of ING's global ALM Tribe of approximately 90 professionals. The squad is responsible for developing and enhancing a centralized ALM service layer that supports ING locations worldwide.
Working in an international environment, you'll collaborate with highly motivated professionals who are focused on delivering innovative solutions for risk management and finance teams. The team offers significant opportunities for learning, growth, and exposure to global banking operations.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Econometrics, Mathematics, Economics, or a related quantitative discipline.
- At least 5 years of experience as a Business Analyst.
- At least 3 years of experience within banking or financial services.
- Experience working with SQL, data analysis, and ETL processes.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Knowledge of Banking, Finance, Risk Management, ALM, or related domains.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience working with cross-functional and international teams.
- A proactive mindset with high ownership and accountability.
- Passion for continuous improvement and operational excellence.
