Workload: 40 hours per week (approx. 160 hours per month)
Location: 1 day per week on-site in Vienna / remaining days remote

We are currently seeking a freelance Business Analyst – MAR Compliance (f/m/d) for a project with a reputable client based in Vienna, Austria.

Framework Conditions

Perform daily analysis and professional evaluation of system-generated alerts in the context of the Market Abuse Regulation (MAR)
Investigate alert triggers and non-triggers, including root-cause analysis of data anomalies
Test, tune, and optimize rule-based surveillance logic from a functional perspective
Provide functional support to development teams during requirements clarification and act as a bridge between business and IT
Conduct impact analyses for functional or technical changes
Perform hands-on data analysis at database level, including the use of SQL
Closely collaborate with business units, IT teams, and other stakeholders in an agile setup

Experience as a Business Analyst in a regulatory or compliance-related environment
Good knowledge of MAR / market abuse surveillance or a strong interest in regulatory topics
Very good understanding of data-driven processes and rule-based systems
Hands-on experience with SQL and database-level data analysis
Ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions
Experience working closely with IT and business stakeholders
Strong analytical and structured working style combined with excellent communication skills
