Business Analyst
Job description
About the Position
Business Analyst
Data and information are at the core of Swiss Re’s business and a key enabler for risk management, underwriting, and client service. A critical part of this capability is how we govern, manage, and use business records across their lifecycle, ensuring that records are complete, reliable, accessible, and managed in line with legal, regulatory, and business requirements.
As a Business Analyst in the central Records Management team, you will help translate business needs into practical solutions that improve how records management works across Swiss Re. You will work closely with business stakeholders, Records Management experts, and technology teams to understand current practices, identify pain points and requirements, and support the design and adoption of improved processes, tools, and ways of working.
This is a hands-on role for someone who can combine strong customer orientation, analytical thinking, and change management capabilities with the ability to bridge business and technology.
Responsibilities
- Work with business stakeholders, Records Management experts, and technology teams to understand current records management practices, challenges, and improvement opportunities
- Analyze business needs, operating models, and user requirements, and translate them into clear functional and non-functional requirements for process, technology, and implementation teams
- Support the design and documentation of improved records management processes, roles, responsibilities, and ways of working
- Help identify gaps, risks, and pain points in how records are created, used, stored, retained, and disposed of across different business areas
- Prepare clear documentation, requirements, process maps, meeting outputs, and other materials to support decision-making and delivery
- Contribute to change management and adoption activities, helping business teams understand new or improved records management practices and what is expected from them
- Support stakeholder engagement by gathering feedback, clarifying needs, and ensuring that practical business considerations are reflected in proposed solutions
- Collaborate with Legal, Compliance, Risk, IT, Operations, and other relevant teams to ensure Records Management requirements are aligned with broader control, process, and technology expectations
- Track actions, dependencies, and follow-ups related to Records Management transformation activities, ensuring progress is visible and well coordinated
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of Records Management governance, standards, controls, and supporting tools
Requirements
- Strong customer orientation and the ability to understand stakeholder needs, challenges, and ways of working
- Ability to translate business requirements into clear inputs for technology, process, and implementation teams
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to structure complex information and identify gaps, risks, and improvement opportunities
- Confidence in engaging with stakeholders across business, Records Management, Legal, Compliance, Risk, Operations, and Technology
- Clear communication skills, including the ability to ask the right questions, document outcomes, and explain requirements in a practical way
- An organized and proactive working style, with the ability to manage multiple topics, follow up on actions, and support delivery in a changing environment
Nice to Have
- Experience with records management, information governance, document management, or related control environments
- Exposure to technology-enabled transformation, process automation, or implementation of new tools and ways of working
- Experience preparing business requirements, process maps, user stories, meeting outputs, or project documentation
- Understanding of regulatory, compliance, risk, or audit expectations in a financial services environment
- Relevant certifications in business analysis, change management, project management, records management, or information governance
