Business Development Externship

About the Position

Are you ready to change the world? One Way Aerospace is rebooting the arsenal of democracy by providing long-range, precision strike drones mass-produced in Ukraine. Our mission is to build a world where access to quality defense does not depend on your zip code or the GPS coordinates of where you live. We design, manufacture, and operate an on-demand delivery service. We’re currently operating in four countries on three continents, and have completed overseas engagements with the US State Department.

One Way Aerospace’s US Federal Business Development team is currently expanding into the US defense sectors and is looking for an extern to drive and support new revenue streams with the US Department of Defense (DoD) and other federal entities. In addition to working closely with the US Federal team, the extern will have an opportunity to work with members of One Way Aerospace’s other Business Development teams; and our engineering, product, and operations teams.

Responsibilities

• Market Entry Strategy: Create “market entry” plans for entities within DoD by analyzing defense appropriations, acquisition authorities, and funding opportunities; especially related to future UAS delivery.
• Market Research & Analysis: Analyze DoD’s Research, Development, Testing & Evaluation (RDT&E) budgets, identify funding opportunities, and lead the team’s development of applications and proposals.
• Opportunity Identification: Search for new contract opportunities using tools such as Bloomberg Government, grants.gov, and SAM.gov, and by keeping abreast of industry news and trends.
• Stakeholder Mapping: Profile key market stakeholders within DoD. Who are the biggest players in defense, what are their challenges and opportunities for growth, and where can One Way Aerospace capture the most value?

Requirements

• A bachelor’s degree in business, international relations, or a related field
• A master’s degree in a related subject (preferred)
• Comfortable working remotely
• Experience working with or in the federal government and/or federal acquisition
• Comfortable with start-ups and an entrepreneurial work atmosphere
• Enthusiastic about bringing cutting-edge technology to the public sector
