Job description

About the Position

Business Development Specialist, Public Sector

Are you looking to take your next step from consulting, client work, or sales support into business development and account management? Want to work with a team that values teamwork, agility, and long-term client relationships? At Reaktor’s Public Sector unit, we help clients tackle some of their most complex and high-impact challenges. We’re looking for a driven Business Development Specialist to join us.

We are looking for someone who already has some hands-on experience from consulting, project/product management, sales, or business development, and is now eager to grow toward sales, account management, and long-term client relationships in the public sector. You may have worked, for example, in sales support, bid management, project management, service management, strategy, or technology consulting, product ownership, or a similar role where you’ve learned to work with clients, technology, and design experts on complex topics.

You don’t need to be a fully established sales or account lead yet. What matters most is a solid foundation to build on, strong motivation to grow in public sector business development, and the ability to learn from experienced colleagues while gradually taking on more independent responsibility.

Responsibilities

  • Running day-to-day Public Sector business, accounts, and sales together with the team.
  • Engaging with clients, handling daily communications, and fostering strong long-term relationships with both clients and the professionals in their teams.
  • Participating in sales processes and preparing sales materials: public tender documents, proposals, presentations, and reference decks. A keen eye for detail and comfort with structured documents will get you far.
  • Participating in customer meetings and presenting sales pitches that help win cases.
  • Collaborating with partners and subcontractors to strengthen sales, staffing, and delivery efforts.
  • Building your capabilities toward leading selected accounts, sales cases, and client relationships over time.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a customer-facing role, whether in sales, account management, or as a consultant in a similar role (e.g., project manager, service manager, strategy consultant, technology consultant).
  • Experience in the consulting or professional services field.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, willingness to work within a team environment, and ability to build relationships with clients and within Reaktor.
  • Strong project management skills and ability to organize your own work efficiently.
  • Attention to detail and ability to create clear and structured sales materials.
  • Result-oriented attitude (getting things done!) and curiosity for learning and growing in the sales field.
  • Fluent in Finnish and English (written and spoken). Excellent writing skills in Finnish.
  • Ability to adapt your communication style depending on the audience, whether you are working with clients, senior stakeholders, technical experts, or internal teams at Reaktor.
  • Experience in coordinating or leading teams, projects, or workstreams is considered a plus.

We Offer

  • Exciting, purpose-driven work in a relaxed atmosphere.
  • Real opportunities to grow as a professional, helping you develop your skills further through guidance, teamwork, and hands-on responsibilities.
  • Autonomy and ownership over your work, giving you the power to make changes and decisions that are needed to create results in your team.
  • A community with support and expertise to share.
  • A team that’s not only experienced but considerate as well – we all want you to succeed.
