Job description
About the Position
Join Nebius as a Business Operations Team Leader to manage and develop a team, drive process improvements, and ensure operational excellence.
About the Role
The Business Operations Team Lead is a hands-on leadership role, combining people management with direct ownership and execution of Business Operations activities and processes. The role is responsible for leading and developing a team of Operations Specialists, driving strong operational performance, and ensuring effective and scalable execution across the purchase-to-pay (P2P) lifecycle.
Working closely with Procurement, Finance, Accounts Payable, Legal, Accounting, Treasury, Logistics, and other stakeholders, the Team Lead drives process improvements, resolves cross-functional challenges, supports the implementation of new capabilities and ways of working, and helps ensure that Business Operations can effectively support the organization as it grows.
Responsibilities
- Lead, coach, and develop the Business Operations team, setting clear expectations, providing ongoing feedback, managing performance, and supporting individual professional growth.
- Maintain an active hands-on role in Business Operations activities, including managing assigned PRs, requests, and tickets, while also supporting complex cases and operational escalations across the P2P lifecycle, alongside team leadership responsibilities.
- Own and continuously improve Business Operations processes and operational standards, ensuring effective, consistent, and scalable execution across the team.
- Drive operational performance and quality by managing team priorities and workload, monitoring key metrics, identifying trends and gaps, and taking action to improve results.
- Partner with Procurement, Finance, AP, Legal, Accounting, Treasury, and other stakeholders to manage cross-functional topics and resolve operational challenges.
- Identify recurring issues, process gaps, and inefficiencies, and drive practical improvements from identification through implementation.
- Drive and contribute to the design, testing, implementation, and adoption of new workflows, systems, automation, and operational capabilities.
- Ensure processes and execution are aligned with internal policies, controls, and business requirements.
- Lead and contribute to cross-functional projects and initiatives that improve efficiency, quality, controls, and scalability.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in Business Operations, Procurement Operations, Finance Operations, P2P, or a related operational role, with a strong understanding of end-to-end procurement and purchase-to-pay processes.
- Demonstrated experience leading and developing team members, either through formal people management or a team leadership role.
- Experience driving cross-functional processes and working with stakeholders across Procurement, Finance, AP, Legal, Accounting, and other business functions.
- Demonstrated experience identifying process gaps, resolving complex operational issues, and driving improvements through implementation.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to use data and operational insights to support decision-making.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence and drive alignment across teams.
- Experience working with ERP, procurement, finance, or workflow management systems.
- Fluent English.
- Experience working in a global and rapidly scaling organization.
Nice to Have
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to coach, develop, and create accountability within a team.
- High level of ownership and accountability, with the ability to drive topics independently from identification through resolution.
- Strong end-to-end and process-oriented thinking, with the ability to identify dependencies, gaps, and broader business impact.
- Proactive and solution-oriented, with a strong continuous-improvement mindset.
- Strong judgment and ability to prioritize and make decisions in a dynamic environment.
- Comfortable challenging existing ways of working and driving change.
- Structured and analytical, with the ability to balance hands-on execution, people leadership, and improvement initiatives.
