As a Business Partner, you will be part of the Business Partner Support (Non-Asia) Team in Control Hub based in Manila but will functionally report to the senior management team and stakeholders in different locations. You will assist entities in the NFR activities on behalf of the Risk and Control Owners in the 1st LoD, enabling the serviced entities to implement and maintain their control environment. The Business Partner will report to the Business Partner Expertise Lead in Manila.

Responsibilities

  • Provides advice and support to the entities and global domains with regards to 1st line Business Control and/or Non-Financial Risk (NFR) management. This includes amongst others support on risk assessments, risk mitigation & issue tracking, control execution and monitoring & quality assessment.
  • Flags and identifies risks and helps in implementing risk-mitigating measures with the management team / stakeholders.
  • Serves as an expert point of contact and sparring partner for stakeholders.
  • Creates balanced risk awareness by making Non-Financial Risk/1st line business control simple and understandable for the entity or local management and others involved.
  • Coordinates with Control Owners to attain an adequate and effective implementation and execution of controls, including mitigating identified risks in associated relevant business processes.
  • Plans and aligns regional or local implementation planning to requirements set from Head Office taking regional and local capacity and requirements into account.
  • Monitors progress of implementation and reports back to local management and regional/global Risk and Control function including if there are any roadblocks to implementation.
  • Works with centrally identified risks related to Key Controls and be able to facilitate required Risk Assessments within the entities and locations responsible for in line with the NFR Risk Identification & Assessment (RIA) Procedure.
  • Monitors progress of Risk Assessment completion and reports back to local management and regional/global Risk and Control function including necessary follow ups needed from relevant parties if there are any roadblocks to implementation.

Requirements

  • 5+ Work experience in a Banking or Business Control, Risk, and or Internal Audit (within Bank or outside) environment is a must.
  • Worked in a 3 Lines of Defense environment is an advantage.
  • Experience in Conducting Non-Financial Risk Assessments is a must, plus knowledge of assessing level of Residual Risk (after mitigating controls are deemed effective) is an advantage.
  • Must be able to perform varied simultaneous tasks in an environment of medium to high complexity.
  • Must be able to write and summarize content in a concise and complete detailed output.

Minimum Qualifications

  • A graduate of any of the following disciplines: Banking and Finance, Business Management, Accounting, Finance etc.
  • Proven ability to build strong relationships and collaborate across a cross-functional team and influence senior leaders.
  • Strong team player, self-starter and motivator, capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
  • Experienced or exposed to working in an international / global financial institution.
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, project management skills with demonstrated proficiency in managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong English written and oral communication skills with proven success in influencing business decisions.
  • Strong and strategic thought leadership to identify business needs and provide efficient and practical solutions.
