Job description
About the Position
Business Process Lead – Lead to Cash
- Location: Rotterdam, Netherlands
Steinweg is a well-established name in the Port of Rotterdam. Since 1847, we have been handling our customers’ goods and providing professional, safe, and reliable logistics services. With more than 6,200 colleagues worldwide, we work towards providing our customers with the highest level of service and quality in a sustainable way.
As part of our ongoing Digital Transformation program, we are implementing SAP S/4HANA. We are looking for a Business Process Lead to oversee sales agreement establishment, quoting, order management, and settlement.
In this role, you will take end-to-end responsibility for shaping and driving business processes within this domain, in close alignment with the Global Process Owner. You will bring practical experience from the logistics service provider industry to the design and improvement of our processes. Working closely with business teams, Steinweg Functional Consultants, IT teams, and our implementation partner, you will translate business needs into scalable solutions, validate solution fit and business readiness, and drive continuous improvement based on data and feedback.
Responsibilities
- Define, improve, and document global processes for quoting, sales agreement establishment, order intake, order management, and settlement, in alignment with Global Process Owners and business teams.
- Design how customer service translates customer requirements and agreements into orders that clearly define the work required from service delivery units.
- Define how customer service validates execution information, including work performed and labor and equipment used, against the agreement, and approves settlement as the basis for invoicing.
- Lead as-is and to-be analyses and fit-gap assessments, translating identified gaps into process improvements and solution requirements while balancing global standardization with local business needs.
- Work with commercial teams, customer service, operational representatives, and Finance to align the handovers between agreements, orders, execution, settlement, and invoicing.
- Collaborate with business teams, Steinweg Functional Consultants, IT teams, and the implementation partner to translate agreed process designs into clear solution requirements, review proposed solutions, and ensure they support the agreed processes.
- Represent the business during solution validation, SIT/UAT, and business acceptance, ensuring solutions support the end-to-end process and are ready for operational use.
- Support process adoption through stakeholder engagement, training materials, and training for end users and super users.
- Use data and feedback from teams to identify improvement opportunities, refine process designs and solution requirements, improve data accuracy, and ensure compliance with company policies and local legal requirements.
Requirements
- Practical experience in a logistics service provider environment, with a strong understanding of how logistics services are agreed, ordered, and delivered.
- Experience in commercial activities, quoting, and sales agreement establishment, or in customer service and order management. Strong experience in either area is sufficient; experience across both is an advantage.
- A structured and analytical approach, with the ability to understand existing processes, identify gaps, and translate business needs into clear process designs and documentation.
- Strong stakeholder management and facilitation skills, with the confidence to challenge existing processes, influence senior stakeholders, and bring business representatives, Global Process Owners, and technical colleagues together.
- The ability to balance global process standards with local business needs and guide teams through process changes.
- Experience contributing to digitalization projects, bringing practical commercial or customer service knowledge into collaboration with IT teams and translating business needs into workable solutions.
- Experience working with SAP S/4HANA or another integrated ERP/TMS environment. Experience with SAP Transportation Management (SAP TM) is a strong advantage.
- Experience with process modelling or process mining tools.
We Offer
- A competitive salary in line between €5.620,62 and €7.867,20 a month.
- Two profit-sharing payouts per year.
- We cover your health insurance.
- Enjoy your holidays with 8.5% holiday pay.
- The opportunity to work from home.
- Invest wisely by becoming a shareholder in our company through our employee foundation.
- Enjoy a healthy work-life balance with 29 days of annual leave.
- Stay fit with a discount on a gym membership and/or make use of our company bicycle leasing scheme.
