The Opportunity

Under general supervision, formulates and defines business process systems scope and objectives through research and fact-finding combined with an understanding of applicable business systems and industry requirements. Develops or modifies moderately complex information systems. Includes analysis of business and user needs, documenting requirements, and revising existing system logic difficulties as necessary. Guides and advises less-experienced Business Systems Analysts. Informed to work in some phases of systems analysis and considers the business implications of the application of technology to the current business environment. May report to the Business Process Technology Manager.

Key Responsibilities

  • Gather/understand/outline moderately complex business process technology needs and document technology requirements.
  • Provide application/solution development support (requirements, design, and production support) for Information Technology tools and business processes.
  • Deliver training and educational materials related to best practices for leveraging key technology components.
  • Effectively facilitate the implementation of best practices and policies for leveraging existing tools utilized throughout various projects and programs.
  • Work with business Subject Matter Experts to understand business process and technical requirements for custom development as well as shrink-wrapped software solutions.
  • Work with internal and external clients to understand user-provided business requirements for application and process-related assessments as well as improvement recommendations.
  • Participate in teams and, depending on complexity, cross-divisional teams responsible for collecting information on Business Cases and Return on Investment Analysis.
  • Research and recommend solutions that best meet the requirements defined by client project teams and conform within corporate standards.
  • Work with other Black & Veatch organizations to ensure quality application support and delivery to the end-user for a variety of network and application-related technologies.
  • Collaborate with 3rd party service providers to execute on project-related initiatives and address technology issues.

Final compensation is determined based on factors such as skills, experience, qualifications, internal alignment, geographic location, and other factors permitted by law.

State of Colorado: $111,111 - $111,111
