Role
We are seeking a motivated Cell Electrode Engineer to join our dynamic start-up team. This role involves hands-on work in materials selection, electrode formulation & process development, and electrochemical characterization of electrodes and cells. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to design, fabricate, and test lithium-ion battery cells, focusing on performance, safety, and scalability.
Responsibilities
- Convert system and cell-level requirements into electrode-level requirements.
- Prototype electrodes using appropriate materials to meet electrode-level requirements.
- Develop electrochemical test protocols relevant to the end application.
- Characterize electrodes by assembling cells and conducting electrochemical tests.
- Conduct physicochemical analyses to elucidate electrode failure modes.
- Scale up successful electrode formulations from the lab to the pilot line.
- Synthesize experimental results and contribute to technical reports.
- Drive electrode development cycles using first principles and a data-driven approach.
- Maintain laboratory equipment and ensure adherence to safety protocols.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field.
- Familiarity with lithium-ion battery chemistry and fabrication processes.
- Hands-on laboratory or manufacturing experience is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving skills and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
