Chief Engineer

About the Position

3DTech is a Ukrainian manufacturer developing innovative unmanned technologies for reconnaissance, defense, and national security. We specialize in designing and producing drones, actively growing and expanding our team. Our mission is to strengthen Ukraine’s technological advantage on the battlefield.

As we scale, we are looking for a Chief Engineer to join our team.

Responsibilities

• Organizing and maintaining the process of drone firmware and flight testing
• Selecting and testing new drone components
• Improving key company products and developing new solutions
• Troubleshooting drone and firmware-related issues
• Responding to technical support requests from clients
• Organizing and conducting field tests to validate and enhance products
• Developing, implementing, and optimizing workflows for the engineering and R&D departments
• Task distribution, performance monitoring, and priority management
• Participating in strategy development and innovation implementation

Team Management

• Involvement in hiring, training, and developing new employees
• Organizing and conducting team training sessions and upskilling
• Implementing work standards and developing technical procedures and instructions

Engineering Coordination

• Organizing and conducting tests for new firmware, features, and solutions
• Overseeing drone configuration, firmware, and maintenance
• Ensuring timely diagnostics and resolution of technical issues

Documentation and Reporting

• Developing and maintaining technical documentation, procedures, and testing protocols
• Preparing reports on department performance, flight tests, and implemented improvements

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience working with UAVs (drones), firmware, and technical maintenance
• 2+ years of practical experience in organizing tests, field trials, and implementing new solutions
• 2+ years of experience managing an engineering or R&D team
• Skills in developing and implementing technical processes, instructions, and standards
• 2+ years of experience in team hiring, training, and development
• Strong sense of responsibility, organization, and prioritization skills
• 2+ years of experience in maintaining technical documentation and reporting
• A plus: experience in innovation, new product development, and understanding of modern drone technologies
