Responsibilities
- Financial Management: Lead the group's financial operations, including accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and auditing. Ensure that financial transactions, policies, and procedures meet the organization's short and long-term business objectives and are conducted in accordance with regulations, accounting principles, standards, and generally accepted best practices.
- Strategic Planning: Develop and implement the financial strategy for the group. This includes long-term financial planning and forecasting, risk management, and investment strategies for both manufacturing and trading businesses.
- Financial Reporting: Oversee the preparation and communication of monthly and annual financial statements. Obtain industry benchmarks to facilitate the Group period analysis. Ensure the timely reporting of key financial data and updates to the CEO, Board of Directors, and other key stakeholders.
- Compliance: Ensure legal and regulatory compliance regarding all financial functions. This includes tax planning and compliance with local and international tax regulations. Ensure adherence to the Group policies and procedures as well as relevant laws of Ghana.
- Leadership: Lead the finance and accounting team for the group and collaborate with subsidiary FC's and Business Heads to ensure their ongoing professional development and training. Participate in key decisions as a member of the Executive Leadership Team.
Requirements
- Education: Fellow Member of ACCA, ICAG, CIMA, or equivalent (e.g., CPA). Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field, MBA is an added advantage. Professional Project Management Certification is a plus.
- Experience: A minimum of 10 years of post-professional qualification experience in senior financial managerial roles, with a proven track record of success.
- Skills:
- Excellent skills in maintaining the general ledger and preparing financial statements with the use of accounting software.
- Excellent knowledge of data analysis, risk management, and forecasting methods.
- Working knowledge of the Ghana Tax Law and application of the Company Law in Ghana.
- Excellent leadership and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential matters with discretion and tact.
- Strong ethical standards and high levels of integrity.
- Proficient in the use of MS Office and financial management software.
