About the Position

Civil - Associate Engineering Technician - Water

Join Black & Veatch as a Civil - Associate Engineering Technician - Water to support multidisciplinary project teams in developing high-quality engineering deliverables for water and industrial water projects.

Responsibilities

  • Supports engineering teams under general supervision
  • Performs technical tasks requiring intermediate knowledge of engineering principles and practices
  • Uses digital tools and design software (e.g., CAD, BIM, 3D modeling)
  • Creates, updates, and maintains technical documentation, drawings, and project deliverables
  • Begins providing technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineering technicians

Requirements

  • Intermediate knowledge of engineering principles and practices
  • Basic Civil3D experience with use of pipe/pressure networks, proposed grading surfaces, and plan and profile development
  • Ability to perform basic computations, including material quantity estimates and dimensional checks
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to continuous improvement

Preferred Qualifications

  • Diploma or Certificate preferred
  • Associate Degree in Drafting or an Engineering Design Related Technology preferred
