Responsibilities
- Perform design of projects from the conceptual and bid phase through design completion for project needs and requirements set by the project managers based on client needs.
- Assist the Engineering Manager in maintaining project schedules and budgets.
- Assist the Engineering Manager in managing sub-consultants.
- Under the direction of the Engineering Manager, interface directly with the client or sub-consultants.
- Support business development through writing of technical approaches, scopes of work, and presentations to clients.
- Utilizes knowledge of regularly used civil concepts, practices, codes, and procedures within the water engineering industry.
- Applies knowledge to complex projects, find and develop non-standard design solutions to better serve clients' project specifications.
- Provide leadership, guidance, and mentorship to less experienced engineers.
- Responsible for effective communication with other engineering disciplines and project team.
- Prepares a variety of complex engineering deliverables.
- Performs complex research and develops recommendations for equipment and/or materials selection.
- Prepares complex engineering calculations following standard methods and principles. Manages assigned budget, schedule, and quality requirements.
- Plans and conducts independent evaluation, selection, and adaptation of engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria.
- Reviews engineering work and/or assignments of early career professionals.
- Is responsible for one or more of the following: overseeing collection, assimilation, and management of data for engineering work; leading smaller production teams; and serving as the responsible charge for a project.
Requirements
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
- Licensed PE or ability and interest to obtain PE and/or be in active pursuit of registration.
- Thorough understanding of water and wastewater design (i.e., Infrastructure, Conveyance, Pump Stations/Lift Stations).
- Ability and motivation to lead portions of complex projects with guidance and mentorship.
Minimum Qualifications
- Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering from either a recognized accredited program in their home country or the country in which the professional is practicing.
- Minimum of 1 year related work experience.
- All applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (if selected) which may include any/all of the following: criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations.
