About the Position
We are looking for a Civil - Staff Engineering Technician - APG to join our team at Black & Veatch Family of Companies. This role offers the chance to collaborate with multidisciplinary project teams within the Power Providers Market Sector, supporting Advanced Power Generation (APG) projects and building critical infrastructure for today’s and tomorrow’s challenges. Civil professionals contribute to site development efforts, including grading and drainage, erosion control, roadways, fencing, and underground utilities.
Responsibilities
- Applies knowledge of standards, systems, document control, departmental guides, applicable codes, and BV policies and procedures.
- Reviews project requirements and accurately determines the correct format and contents of the required deliverables.
- Proactively applies BV Quality Program to deliverables and demonstrates personal accuracy.
- Assists to ensure deliverables are in compliance with specific codes and standards suitable for the project.
- Applies basic engineering principles and established design practices in developing moderately complex design concepts and deliverables.
- Capable of handling difficult technical assignments within an area of expertise and can provide technical guidance to other professionals.
- Coordinates with other design group personnel to review and exchange project information necessary for design development.
- Focuses on the needs of internal clients while utilizing an understanding of external client's main interests and drivers.
- Proactively seeks and shares knowledge of the latest technologies and processes.
Requirements
- Minimum Qualifications: Typically a minimum of 5 years related work experience.
- Preferred Qualifications: Diploma or Certificate preferred. Associate Degree in Drafting or an Engineering Design Related Technology preferred.
