Clinical Engineer

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated professional to support our business and serve customers in Australia and beyond. In this role, you will assist surgeons with virtual surgical planning, ensuring the seamless translation of digital plans into precise, patient-specific medical models, surgical guides, and custom implants. As the primary point of contact for surgeons, you will manage client relationships, uphold the highest medical quality standards, and contribute to continuously improving our innovative products and services. Responsibilities
- Assist surgeons during virtual planning sessions to visualize and understand the patient anatomy and plan all the required surgical steps the surgeon foresees on the digitized model.
- Build further on surgical plans with our conversion engineers to ensure that appropriate patient-specific medical models, surgical guides, and custom implants are designed and manufactured to our high quality standards in order to transfer the digital plan into reality in the operating room.
- Act as the primary contact point for the surgeons throughout case processing and after delivery of the surgical kits.
- Manage external client expectations to achieve high-quality service and on-time delivery of our products; build and maintain close working relationships with surgeons and medical professionals, and occasionally attend surgeries and commercial activities.
- Spread awareness and understanding of the use of our products to surgeons and other medical professionals.
- Closely cooperate with conversion engineers and quality engineers in Materialise offices around the world, continuously looking for ways to improve our products and services.
Requirements
- Technical/medical background, ideally holding a master’s degree in biomedical engineering or a similar specialization.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Strong focus on medical quality and a customer service mindset.
- Accurate and well organized, with problem-solving as a second nature.
- Excellent English communication skills; proficiency in Italian or Spanish is a plus.
- Attention to details, especially in accordance with the highest standards applicable to the industry of implantable medical devices.
- Strong involvement and respect for commitments, especially deadlines.
- Team player, willing to integrate into the existing team and contribute to the performance level of the team.
