Responsibilities

As a Clinical Pharmacist at Munson Healthcare, you will be an integral member of the Cowell Family Cancer Center and oncology service line. Your role will focus on optimizing patient outcomes through comprehensive medication management, patient education, and interdisciplinary collaboration. Key responsibilities include:

• Providing education for patients receiving intravenous and oral anticancer therapies.
• Ensuring patients and caregivers understand treatment goals, administration requirements, potential adverse effects, and the importance of medication adherence.
• Monitoring patient response and adherence to therapy, identifying barriers to treatment, and providing recommendations to support safe and effective care.
• Evaluating treatment plans, verifying diagnoses and medication orders, and ensuring the accuracy and appropriateness of chemotherapy dosing, supportive care, and monitoring parameters.
• Collaborating with providers to optimize patient care.
• Conducting staff and provider education.
• Maintaining the chemotherapy regimen library.
• Participating in quality improvement and research initiatives.
• Overseeing hazardous drug safety practices.
• Supervising support personnel.

Requirements

• Graduate of an ACPE-accredited School of Pharmacy with a BS Pharmacy degree or higher.
• Currently licensed to practice pharmacy in the state of Michigan or eligible for licensure.
• State of Michigan licensure as a Registered Pharmacist is required within 90 days of employment.
• Health-system experience or PGY-1 residency completion preferred, but not required.
• PGY-2 Residency completion desired but not required for specialty areas (ED, OR, ONC).
• Board Certification preferred, but not required.
