We are seeking a Cloud / DevOps Engineer to join our team in Zurich, Switzerland. You will be responsible for designing and implementing modern deployment and operations architecture.
Responsibilities
- Design, implementation, operation, and continuous enhancement of a modern deployment and operations architecture based on Linux/Ubuntu, Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines (Bitbucket, Azure DevOps)
- Installation, commissioning, and operation of software solutions in both cloud environments and on-premises customer installations
- Design, operation, and maintenance of a remote support and monitoring infrastructure using established SaaS tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, InfluxDB, CheckMK, and similar technologies
- Analysis of incidents and root causes as well as continuous optimization of systems and operational processes in collaboration with software development teams
- Acting as a technical point of contact and sparring partner for internal application and development teams
- Setup and operation of remote access solutions and technical support for operational technology (OT) environments at customer sites
- Planning, design, and implementation of network architectures within diverse customer infrastructures
- Collaboration with international software and systems engineering teams, including stakeholders in Europe, the USA, and Australia
Requirements
- Completed education in computer science, information technology, or a comparable technical field (completed university of applied sciences or equivalent qualification)
- Extensive hands-on experience in the operation and provisioning of cloud-based services on AWS or Azure, including: Web services, Container registries, container applications, and Kubernetes clusters, Serverless applications, Terraform and modern infrastructure-as-code and deployment concepts
- Strong expertise in the administration and maintenance of Linux-based server systems
- Practical experience with Windows Server environments, MSSQL and PostgreSQL databases, and industrial or enterprise network infrastructures
- Solid knowledge of cybersecurity principles, including: Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) and certificate management, Common authentication and authorization mechanisms, including Active Directory synchronization and single sign-on (SSO) use cases
- Secure handling of credentials and secrets, including experience with Docker Secrets or similar concepts
- High level of personal responsibility, strong team orientation, and a solution-focused mindset
- Customer-oriented approach, with internal application development teams considered the primary stakeholders, and a clear focus on practical, maintainable, and sustainable solutions
- Excellent English communication skills; additional languages such as German are an advantage
- Willingness to work in a hybrid work model, including approximately 5% travel and up to 60% remote work
