Cloud Engineer

The Azure Application Hosting team at Swiss Re is seeking a Cloud Engineer with a focus on Kubernetes and Azure Cloud. We accelerate developer teams in the company by providing a standardized application hosting platform. The team is based in Zürich, Switzerland, and Madrid, Spain. We're looking for someone who is ready to contribute to our team's efforts and support Swiss Re's cloud initiatives.

Responsibilities

In this role, you'll engage in Infrastructure as Code, automation, and application hosting using Kubernetes. Your main responsibility will be to manage, improve, and operate our shared application hosting platform for various types of applications in the Azure cloud.

A significant part of your role involves further engineering of the platform, but also ensuring the stability and operability of the platform. This includes automating operational processes as much as possible. You will also participate in an on-call rotation, to handle high-priority incidents.

Requirements

• Proficient in managing and operating Kubernetes in a public cloud.
• In-depth hands-on experience with Azure, AWS, or GCP, ideally Azure.
• Programming experience, ideally Golang.
• Strong with Infrastructure as Code tools and concepts.
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as Azure DevOps.
• Experience in cloud network infrastructure and security concepts.

We Offer

For Slovakia, the base salary range for this position is between EUR 2,800 and EUR 4,600 per month (for a full-time role). The specific salary offered considers:

• The requirements, scope, complexity, and responsibilities of the role.
• The applicant’s own profile including education/qualifications, expertise, specialization, skills, and experience.

In addition to your base salary, you may be eligible for additional rewards and benefits including an attractive performance-based bonus.
