About the Position
Spendbase is a fast-growing fintech SaaS startup helping companies take control of their spending. With our all-in-one platform, businesses can manage SaaS subscriptions, cloud costs, and corporate cards in one place - bringing clarity and control to company expenses.
We are seeking a Cloud Migrations Specialist to lead and execute the migration of client infrastructure, applications, and data to the cloud - primarily AWS, with exposure to GCP. You'd work directly with clients and internal engineering teams to deliver smooth, secure, and well-architected migrations from on-premise or legacy environments.
Responsibilities
- Assess client infrastructure, applications, and workloads to define migration strategies (rehost, replatform, refactor)
- Plan and execute end-to-end cloud migrations to AWS, with GCP involvement where required
- Design and implement cloud architectures following AWS Well-Architected Framework principles
- Configure and manage AWS services: EC2, S3, RDS, VPC, IAM, Lambda, EKS, CloudFormation, and others as needed
- Handle GCP-side workloads and integrations (Compute Engine, Cloud Storage, BigQuery, GKE) where applicable
- Ensure security, compliance, and cost efficiency throughout the migration process
- Collaborate with client DevOps, backend, and infrastructure teams during transition periods
- Identify and resolve migration blockers, performance issues, and compatibility gaps
- Document architectures, runbooks, and post-migration handoff materials
- Provide post-migration support and optimization recommendations
Requirements
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in cloud infrastructure or migration roles
- Strong expertise in AWS - core services, networking, security, and cost management
- Practical experience with GCP (even if secondary - you know your way around)
- Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code: Terraform and/or CloudFormation
- Solid understanding of networking concepts: DNS, VPN, VPC peering, load balancing, firewalls
- Experience migrating databases, containerized workloads, and legacy applications
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently across multiple client projects
Nice to Have
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect (Associate or Professional)
- Google Cloud certification (Associate Cloud Engineer or equivalent)
- Experience with hybrid and multi-cloud architectures
- Kubernetes (EKS / GKE) administration experience
- Background in working with enterprise or mid-market clients
