About the Role

As a Commercetool Backend Lead Developer, you are passionate about experience innovation and eager to push the boundaries of what’s possible. You bring 8+ years of experience, a growth mindset, and a drive to make a lasting impact.

Responsibilities

Backend Services and Integrations: Define and implement backend services, integrations, and extensions, ensuring adherence to best practices, minimizing technical debt, and continuously improving platform quality and performance.
E-Commerce Solution Development: Design, develop, and maintain backend services, APIs, and integrations using the commercetools platform and microservices architecture.
Technical Guidance: Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior developers and support their technical growth.
Documentation: Create and maintain technical documentation, including backend architecture, API specifications, and integration workflows.
Community Participation: Act as a technical role model by promoting best practices such as modular architecture, code maintainability, automated testing, and peer reviews.

Requirements

Education: A Bachelor's or Master’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
Experience: 8+ years of experience in Node.js, Java, Typescript, and composable commerce architecture.
Skills:
- Strong experience in backend development using Node.js (preferred), or Java / TypeScript.
- Proficiency in RESTful APIs, GraphQL, and event-driven integrations.
- Experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.

Nice to Have

Strong knowledge of solution design and architecture for composable and headless commerce platforms.
Senior-level hands-on experience with the commercetools platform, including APIs, GraphQL, custom extensions, subscriptions, and integrations.
