About the Position
Join Materialise as a Commercial Finance Analyst in Leuven, Belgium. Transform commercial and financial data into insights for our growing medical business.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain commercial dashboards in Power BI and Excel to provide visibility on performance, trends, and KPIs
- Build and enhance commercial KPIs and reporting processes with a focus on efficiency, automation, and scalability
- Act as the primary point of contact for commercial data analysis, data requests, and ad-hoc insights
- Contribute to the forecasting and budgeting cycles, including gathering input, analyzing variances, and preparing commercial projections
- Perform ROI analyses on marketing and sales investments, providing actionable recommendations
- Develop business analyses related to customer behavior, margin development, pricing effects, promotions, product mix, and other commercial drivers
- Identify and improve processes related to data collection, reporting, and commercial decision-making
- Collaborate closely with sales, marketing, finance, and IT to translate data-driven insights into concrete business actions
- Work effectively in a multi-currency environment, ensuring accurate analysis and interpretation of financial results across different currencies
- Support financial accounting processes, where a foundational understanding of accounting principles is an advantage for validating reports and analyses
- Drive AI adoption within commercial analytics, including exploring and leveraging AI tools for reporting automation, data enrichment, forecasting improvements, and workflow optimization
- Continuously learn and apply new AI capabilities to enhance commercial insights, efficiency, and decision support
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in finance, economics, business analytics, or a related field
- Working experience as a proactive financial analyst or auditor
- Excellent Excel skills (advanced formulas, PowerQuery, modeling) and solid experience with Power BI; knowledge of Anaplan is a plus
- Strong analytical mindset and the ability to translate complex data into clear insights
- Process-minded, always seeking ways to improve efficiency, consistency, and scalability
- Experience in commercial reporting, business controlling, or data analytics is a plus
- Basic knowledge of financial accounting is an advantage
- Experience working in a multi-currency context is considered a strong asset
- Strong communication skills, capable of presenting insights clearly to stakeholders with varying levels of data expertise
- Proactive, critical thinker able to manage projects independently
