We are seeking a Commodity Manager, Electrical to develop and execute global sourcing strategies for electrical and electromechanical commodities.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute multi-year sourcing strategies for assigned electrical commodities to optimize total cost of ownership, supply assurance, quality, and innovation.
  • Lead RFI, RFQ, and RFP events; conduct should-cost and benchmarking analyses; and drive competitive bidding.
  • Analyze market trends, cost drivers, supplier capacity, and technology roadmaps to anticipate risks and opportunities and deliver annual cost-reduction targets.
  • Own end-to-end supplier relationships, including performance scorecards, business reviews, and continuous-improvement initiatives.
  • Negotiate pricing, contracts, commercial terms, and long-term agreements that deliver measurable value.
  • Assess supplier financial health, geographic concentration, and single-source exposure; partner with Quality on corrective actions, PPAP, and defect reduction.
  • Partner with Engineering during new product introduction to influence design for cost, manufacturability, and supply availability, including component selection, qualification, and alternate sourcing.
  • Monitor and mitigate allocations, end-of-life and obsolescence issues, lead-time volatility, and other supply risks to help ensure uninterrupted production.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Business, or a related field.
  • At least five years of progressive experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, or commodity management, including direct ownership of electrical or electronic commodities such as PCBAs, connectors, cables and wire harnesses, power supplies, and passive and active components.
  • Five years experience negotiating supplier contracts and long-term agreements.
  • Experience with cost-modeling and data-analysis skills.
  • Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems such as SAP or Oracle and Microsoft Excel.

Nice to Have

  • Experience in a manufacturing, hardware, or electronics-focused industry.
  • Familiarity with new product introduction and design-for-cost and design-for-supply principles.
  • Professional certification such as CPSM, C.P.M., APICS, or CPIM.
  • Experience managing global suppliers across multiple regions.

We Offer

  • Competitive salary range: $110,000 - $135,000 annually.
  • Comprehensive Total Rewards program.
  • Up to 25% travel, including domestic and international.
