Your Mission
We are seeking a Front-End Web Engineer to join the Door to Door team. This pivotal role will directly contribute to one of BlaBlaCar's key strategic initiatives. The ideal candidate will possess the ability to rapidly iterate while also considering future system scalability.
Responsibilities
- Work closely with the product manager, product designer, and other engineers to ensure that the product meets business needs and user requirements.
- Design, develop, and maintain high-performance and scalable features within the BlaBlaCar product.
- Ensure that the product is developed according to best practices, coding standards, and BlaBlaCar architecture principles.
- Work closely with other teams to ensure smooth integration with existing systems and leverage what’s in place.
- Participate in design and code reviews.
- Interact with people with different roles and backgrounds, sharing your technical expertise with a mix of technical, product, and business experts.
- Proactively participate in BlaBlaCar’s Front-End Web Engineering Chapter.
- You will be supported by state-of-the-art AI tooling, which is broadly adopted across BlaBlaCar's engineering teams and culture to enhance development efficiency.
Requirements
- Proficiency in Typescript, HTML5, CSS3, and React.
- First experience with tooling like Git, Docker, Node.js, and observability solutions.
- Full working proficiency in English.

- A strong appetite for AI-assisted coding and agentic workflows.

Nice to Have
- Hands-on experience with Kubernetes.
- Experience with SEO and web performance optimization.
- Past experience with mobile and backend development.

- A 60-min video-call with Thomas, Engineering Manager, to discuss your experience and share more details about the team.
- A 60-min Design Interview with Software Engineers, going deeper into your technical skills in problem solving.
- A 45-min Code review with Software Engineers.
- A 60-min Live coding / Pair programming with Software Engineers.
- A 30-min video-call with Sébastien, VP Engineering Carpool, for vision fit and rounding off the process.
Our hiring process lasts 25-30 days on average, offers usually come within 48 hours.
