Job Description, Responsibilities & Requirements

About the Position

We are looking for a Connectivity Test Engineer to join our team at Luxoft in Krakow, Poland. You will be embedded within the client's connectivity testing department, focusing on verifying the TCAM (Telematics & Connectivity Antenna Module) - the cellular modem embedded in modern connected vehicles - across simulated mobile network conditions representing 2G, 3G, LTE, and 5G technologies.

Responsibilities

  • TCAM Verification

    • Verify TCAM cellular modem behavior (TCAM 1.1, 2, 3, 4) in simulated network conditions
    • Test voice, SMS, and data services across GSM, 3G, LTE, and 5G technologies
    • Verify eCall, legal eCall, and next-generation eCall functionality
    • Test DualAPN logic for multiple markets (HU, RO, SK, IS, GR)
    • Validate VoLTE/VoNR, IMS Registration, and circuit-switched voice behavior
    • Test network reject code handling and modem recovery logic
    • Verify eCall-only mode for country-specific regulatory requirements
  • Test Automation & CI

    • Develop and maintain automated test cases using Robot Framework and Python
    • Migrate existing test suite to TCAM2; extend coverage to TCAM3 and TCAM4
    • Maintain and improve the CI/CD pipeline (Git, Gerrit, Jenkins) - keep the pipeline green
    • Integrate test results into CarWeaver verification verdict system
    • Manage defects and work items in Jira
  • Simulator & Lab Operations

    • Operate and maintain mobile network simulators: Keysight Anite 9000 (SAS), Keysight UXM E7515A, and R&S CMW/CMX500
    • Develop and maintain simulator services in Python
    • Ensure simulator availability and reliability for the test team
  • SME Contributions

    • Act as subject matter expert during TCAM and mobile network troubleshooting
    • Review planned TCAM implementations for Network Friendliness Mode
    • Investigate voice-centric to data-centric mode migration requirements
    • Contribute to pre-certification testing for new TCAM variants with mobile network operators

Requirements

  • Must have

    • Hands-on experience with Robot Framework for test automation
    • Python scripting - test frameworks, simulator services, data processing
    • Solid understanding of cellular technologies: GSM, 3G, LTE, 5G
    • Knowledge of mobile network protocols: NAS signaling, EMM, IMS, VoLTE
    • Experience working with CI/CD pipelines (Git, Gerrit or similar, Jenkins)
    • Ability to read and interpret 3GPP specifications
    • Experience with defect tracking and work management in Jira
    • Comfortable with Linux-based toolchains and command-line environments
    • Direct experience with Keysight Anite 9000, Keysight UXM E7515A, or R&S CMW/CMX500
  • Nice to have

    • Experience in automotive telematics or connected car platforms
    • Familiarity with eCall standards (EN 16072, 3GPP TS 26.267)
    • Experience with MQTT-based service communication
    • Knowledge of CarWeaver or similar verification verdict management tools
    • Previous work in an OEM or Tier-1 automotive supplier environment
    • Experience with modem configuration and market adaptation testing
