About the Opportunity

We are seeking experienced field sales consultants for SumUp, offering commission-based income and independent work in Deauville, Calvados, France. As an independent sales consultant, you will sell SumUp's payment, point-of-sale, and software solutions to small and medium-sized businesses in your region. You will identify your own prospects, manage your portfolio of opportunities, and assist clients in getting started.

You must have experience in cold prospecting and enjoy face-to-face sales on the ground. You will manage your own business and organize your sales activities autonomously, while benefiting from SumUp's training and support.

Responsibilities

• Find new clients through face-to-face visits, door-to-door prospecting, and direct outreach.
• Target local businesses generating significant payment volumes and likely to benefit from SumUp products.
• Ask questions about each business's operations and recommend suitable payment, hardware, cash register, and software solutions.
• Manage the sales process from the first contact, through product demonstrations, objection handling, and closing, within the partnership.
• Help clients set up and start using their SumUp products.
• Build relationships with business owners and request referrals from satisfied clients.
• Schedule your visits and follow-ups to optimize your time on the ground.
• Track your activity, opportunities, and sales results, and provide necessary information for sales processing.
• Exchange with your SumUp contact to benefit from product expertise and sales advice.

Requirements

Essential

• At least one year of experience in field sales in sectors such as telecommunications, energy, enterprise technologies, waste management, security systems, or food and beverage supply.
• Experience in cold prospecting, including approaching businesses face-to-face and finding your own prospects.
• Experience in selling to small and medium-sized businesses and direct relationships with owners or decision-makers.
• Demonstrable results in acquiring new clients and achieving sales targets. We will ask for examples of your achievements and how you accomplished them.
• Ability to manage a sales process from the first contact to closing, including handling questions and objections.
• Good organizational skills and rigorous follow-up.
• Ability to handle rejections, learn from experiences, and persevere.
• A good understanding of the independent status and the willingness to develop your client portfolio.
• Ability to travel within your sales territory to regularly meet prospects and clients.

Nice to Have

• An existing network of local business owners who could benefit from SumUp products.
• Experience in the payments, merchant services, or point-of-sale systems field.

Sales experience over the phone is a plus, but you must also have sold face-to-face on the ground.

Compensation

This is an independent activity, compensated exclusively by commission, with no base salary or guaranteed minimum income. Commissions are uncapped and depend on your sales results and the activity of the merchants you bring on board.

The commission system includes, under Partner conditions:

• Payments: 50% of the annualized net income related to transactions.
• Hardware: 50% of the selling price retained in the scale.
• Software and subscriptions: 50% of the annual amount retained in the scale.
• Residual income: 20% of the net monthly income generated by the merchants brought on board, for a maximum duration of three years.
• Welcome benefit: three times the usual amount of residual commissions for the first three months.
• Additional bonuses related to certain products or commercial operations.

New partners benefit from Partner conditions during the launch period. Their retention is then subject to the program's activity criteria; an Agent scale of 40%, without residual commissions, may apply.

The eligibility conditions, calculation bases, and payment terms are specified in the contract and presented before any commitment. Commissions are before deducting your professional expenses, social security contributions, and applicable taxes.

Training and Support

We will help you familiarize yourself with the products and their sales through an initial training program and ongoing support covering prospecting, sales interviews, demonstrations, objection handling, and client support.

The terms of the initial training program and the prerequisites for sales will be communicated to you before starting.

Your SumUp contact will also provide support in territorial development, analysis of your opportunities, and sales advice, respecting your organizational autonomy.
