Responsibilities
As a Consulting Engineer, you will:
- Engage with customers to create value and deliver outcomes, adoption, and renewals. Proactively collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure a unified customer experience across the lifecycle.
- Provide Day-2 support on Cisco products and solutions for customers, leveraging technical expertise, AI, and automation, strategic guidance, and innovative solutions to ensure optimal performance and customer satisfaction.
- Serve as a focal point for proactive problem resolution, providing timely support across Cisco technologies.
- Develop and deliver technical content and guidance that supports customer engagements, drives solution adoption, and enables customer self-sufficiency.
- Create customer-facing documentation, ensuring deliverables are technically sound, clearly articulated, and aligned with CX standards.
- Leverage AI and automation to enhance delivery efficiency, innovation, and customer outcomes, while also increasing personal productivity and focus on high-impact work.
- Contribute to knowledge sharing and the development of digital intellectual capital, including documentation templates, automation artifacts, and other assets that improve Cisco delivery methodology and processes.
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in a technical field, such as Computer Science, Computer Networking, Information Technology, Electrical/Computer Engineering, or a similar field.
- Experience: 2 to 4 years of experience in technical consulting, design, deployment, and troubleshooting.
- Technical Skills:
- Experience and good knowledge in protocols/features like: Routing protocols (ISIS, OSPF, and certainly BGP), Multicast, QOS, and all MPLS technologies: MPLS L3VPN, MPLS L2VPN, EVPN technologies.
- Experience working on Internet Service provider infrastructure.
- Good experience with service provider platforms like: ASR9k, NCS5k, NCS500, NCS6k, and CRS.
- Experience in installation, configuration, testing, troubleshooting, and/or network solution designing of Cisco routers and switches.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, ability to communicate technology strategy and architecture approach to engineers, executives, and Cisco customers.
- CCNP is must, CCIE desired (Routing & Switching / Service Provider).
Nice to Have
- Ability to influence, motivate, and work in a highly cross-functional matrix environment to drive outcomes-based plans, programs, and execution.
- Prior experience of conducting customer workshops.
- High-level and low-level network design experience would be preferred.
- Knowledge of emerging technologies like SDA/SDWAN/ACI preferred.
- Knowledge of Nexus Switches or Cisco security products is preferred.
- AL/ML and Network automation skills preferred (Python/Ansible/GoLang/Splunk).
