About the Position
Continuous Improvement Specialist
Join Munson Healthcare as a Continuous Improvement Specialist to facilitate process improvement activities and initiatives in a beautiful northern Michigan location.
Responsibilities
- The Continuous Improvement Specialist draws upon the broad understanding of Lean for Healthcare and other improvement methodologies in accomplishing assignments.
- Facilitate or assist with process improvement activities, initiatives, and events.
- Have familiarity with/experience in Project Management, project planning and implementation, facilitation, data collection and analytics, A3 Thinking, and the use of Lean and other improvement methodologies and tools.
- Quickly become familiar with and understand the Munson Alignment Framework and Operating System.
- Much of the work is self-directed and varies in both subject matter and team composition.
Requirements
- A Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, Business, Nursing, or other professional healthcare discipline from an accredited college or university is required.
- Familiarity and some experience with a wide range of Continuous Improvement methodology and tools is required.
- Must have excellent organizational, analytical, presentation, and project management skills.
- Must have strong interpersonal skills, and be able to communicate and interact effectively with employees from all areas of the organization.
- Must have the ability to evaluate and discuss defects and errors in an objective and non-threatening manner.
- Continuous Improvement Specialists must demonstrate the ability to use data and data analytics for decision-making.
- Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office products and desktop software is required.
- Must have strong written, oral, visual, and presentation skills to articulate the philosophy of Continuous Improvement as well as ongoing project status information.
Nice to Have
- Clinical experience in nursing, medicine, pharmacy, or allied health profession is valued.
- One or more years of experience in a hospital setting including process improvement and project leadership experience is preferred.
- Experience or training in Lean for Healthcare or LeanSixSigma is preferred.
- Familiarity with Clinical EHRs is a plus.
