About the Position

Here at StandOut CV, we are always on the lookout for good CV writers to perform varied CV writing jobs on a freelance or permanent basis. If you are an experienced CV writer, or have a recruitment/HR background with a good grasp of the English language, then we would love to hear from you.

Responsibilities

The job will involve all aspects of creating careers advice content across the StandOut CV website, including:

• Writing a range of long-form careers advice articles to educate readers on topics such as CV writing, job search, cover letters, and job interviews.
• Writing in line with the StandOut CV brand tone, projecting a friendly but authoritative voice.
• Learning all aspects of our CV and job-search advice approach and keeping up to date with industry news to provide the best advice possible to our readers.
• Carrying out research for articles and structuring them for a seamless reading experience.
• Uploading and formatting articles in WordPress CMS, proofreading, and editing.
• Working closely with a designer and creating explainer images and charts to feature in articles.
• Updating existing articles with new and improved advice, facts, and figures.
• Briefing freelance writers to create supporting content for articles.

Requirements

• Previous experience writing long-form articles (1,000 words +) or blogs for publications, such as How-To guides, listicles, tips, strategy, and advice pieces.
• Excellent writing skills with the ability to engage readers and educate them with simple but detailed content.
• Sound knowledge of article production from research, structuring, and writing, to formatting, proofreading, and editing.
• A passion for creating engaging content and pride in the writing you produce.

Nice to Have

• Experience using WordPress CMS.
• Basic knowledge of SEO.
• Knowledge of careers advice (either gained through experience of writing careers advice content or previous experience in a recruitment environment).
• Experience creating images with Canva or PowerPoint.

We Offer

• A full-time remote role with very occasional travel to London for training and meetings.
• Salary of £25,000 – £30,000 + holiday allowance and pension.
• Ongoing writing training + opportunities to progress and gain further training in digital marketing, SEO, content management, web publishing, and all aspects of the business.
