About the Position
YipitData is the leading market research and analytics firm for the disruptive economy and recently raised up to $475M from The Carlyle Group at a valuation over $1B. We analyze billions of alternative data points every day to provide accurate, detailed insights on ridesharing, e-commerce marketplaces, payments, and more. Our on-demand insights team uses proprietary technology to identify, license, clean, and analyze the data many of the world’s largest investment funds and corporations depend on.
We are expanding the Data team within our Corporate practice and are excited to welcome a Corporate Data Product Associate to help deliver high-impact, data-driven products to our clients.
Responsibilities
- Ramp up quickly to become the primary owner of high-impact data products, driving product success by delivering best-in-class outputs with a focus on accuracy, client value, and efficiency.
- Design, maintain, and run comprehensive QA processes to ensure data accuracy and reliability across assigned sector products & client deliverables.
- Independently investigate and resolve complex data quality issues.
- Serve as a trusted resource for internal and external stakeholders by understanding client needs and aligning them with our data methodologies, limitations, and coverage.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Insights and Engineering to align on best practices to deliver customer value, and develop technical solutions that streamline workflows, optimize data processes, and expand automation.
- Proactively identify opportunities to improve efficiency, robustness, and data quality within your team’s workflows, and mentor peers accordingly.
Requirements
- 4+ years of experience in data analytics, data operations, or consulting.
- 3+ years of experience working with SQL, Python, Pyspark, or other programming languages to explore and transform large, complex datasets.
- Experience using sample or panel data to make precise estimates that guide decision making.
- Proven track record of quickly learning new concepts, particularly complex data methodologies.
- Ability to clearly communicate complex concepts, both orally and in written.
- Strong ownership mentality and enthusiasm about making a big impact at a rapidly growing company.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, independently prioritize tasks, and make strategic decisions based on client needs.
- Enjoy mentoring peers and raising the quality bar through shared standards and best practices.
- Advanced English proficiency (B2–C1 or higher).
Nice to Have
- Experience supporting market intelligence or data analytics with brand manufacturers and/or retailers with a strong understanding of their business needs.
- Familiarity with Databricks.
