About the Position
Country Security Officer – Goma
Acted works with 19 million people across 43 countries at the intersection of humanitarian, development, climate, and environmental programming. We are currently seeking a Country Security Officer to join our team in Goma, Democratic Republic of the Congo. In this role, you will support the Country Security Manager or the Country Logistic and Security Manager in context analysis, writing security documents, and ensuring compliance with security standards.
Responsibilities
- Context Analysis and Risk Assessment: Conduct thorough analysis of the security context and assess risks.
- Security Assessments, Auditing, and Operational Support: Perform security assessments, audits, and provide operational support.
- Reporting: Draft all Acted security reporting documents and manage the administration of the security department.
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor or Master Level in Security studies or a relevant field such as International Relations.
- Experience: 2-5 years of previous work experience in a relevant position.
- Skills:
- Excellent analysis and synthesis skills.
- Proven capabilities in leadership and management.
- Excellent skills in written and spoken English.
- Strong negotiation and interpersonal skills.
- Flexibility in cultural and organizational terms.
- Ability to work well and punctually under pressure.
- Previous experience in a difficult context.
We Offer
- Salary: Between xx and xx€ monthly (before income tax), depending on the level of education, security level, etc.
- Allowances: Monthly living allowance of $300.
- Benefits:
- Pension, health insurance, life insurance, and repatriation assistance.
- Flight tickets every 6 months & visa fees covered.
- Contribution to luggage transportation: up to 100 kgs, depending on the length of the contract.
- Rest & Recuperation (R&R) every 2 or 3 months, flight tickets covered up to $500 and allowance of $200.
- Annual leave of 25 to 43 days per year.
- One week pre-departure training in Acted HQ, including a 4-day in situ security training.
- Tax advice (free 30-minute call with a tax consultant).
- Psychological assistance.
