Job description
About the Position
At Picnic, the customer engagement and loyalty within the domain of online groceries is unprecedented. This gives us unique opportunities to shape meaningful communications and build lasting relationships with our customers. The Consumer team is responsible for doing just that: telling Picnic's story and for building meaningful relationships with Picnic's customers.
As a Creative Designer in Amsterdam, you will join a team of designers, analysts, communication coordinators, store managers, and copywriters from the start of a communication initiative until we reach our customers' doors. Our goal is to design the most engaging campaigns that directly speak to (potential) customers and ensure all our assets across multiple channels are in line with our brand. You will think along with the design briefs, develop campaign visuals, and help shape Picnic’s visual identity. Each project, we aim to learn more about our customers and become better at shaping our communications to their needs.
Note: this is not a UX/UI design job.
Responsibilities
- Build engaging campaigns: Collaborate with business stakeholders to build campaigns that engage our existing/future customers. From original concept to final asset creation.
- Weekly visual design work: Create and update email campaigns, social media assets, online ads, and campaign visuals for our app.
- Champion Picnic's visual identity: Ensure brand consistency across multiple channels and help shape the future of our visual identity.
- Develop a design analytical approach: Adopt an overall analytical approach to design by testing and validating your designs either through user tests or A/B testing online.
- Cross-team & cross-country collaborations: Work and learn from experienced designers, analysts, and business stakeholders internationally (the Netherlands, Germany & France).
- Trend research & knowledge sharing: Research retail trends and conduct competitor reviews to keep the team up to date.
Requirements
- Degree in a relevant graphical/visual/communication design field.
- 2-5 years of working experience in visual design, preferably in a commercial and/or agency environment.
- Solid online portfolio showing a keen eye for detail paired with lots of creative flair.
- Expert with Adobe Suite (Photoshop and Illustrator) and Figma.
- Self-starter with a “roll up your sleeves” attitude.
- Eager to learn in a fast-paced environment.
- Affinity for illustration and experience with animation are a plus but not a must.
- English skills on point.
We Offer
- 🥗 Fresh Lunch, coffee, and snacks: Our offices are equipped with fully-fledged coffee bars and a kitchen and chefs. They prepare delicious fresh and warm lunches every day so you can keep your energy up.
- 🚴🏼♂️ Health insurance discount & bike plan: We have a partnership with CZ (a health insurance provider). Picnic employees get a discount on CZ insurance packages between 5% and 15%. Furthermore, through our partnership with Lease a Bike, you can rent-to-own a new (e)bike at a discounted rate.
- 🏠 Relocation: If you’re moving from another country to join Picnic, we make it as smooth as possible for you. We’ll cover your flight costs for you and your partner and kids, your first month's rent and moving costs (up to €2000), and help you with the 30% tax ruling setup and application.
- ✍🏼 Learning & development: You’ll get ample opportunity to work on yourself at Picnic. Interested in improving your mental wellbeing? Through OpenUp, you get free access to trained psychologists and many courses.
- All the rest: At Picnic, you get 25 holidays, we cover your travel expenses, and offer a pension plan. And your phone and laptop are on us, as well.
