About the Position

Customer Data Integration Engineer – SAP CDC, SAP C4C & n8n

As a Customer Data Integration Engineer, you will manage the flow of customer identity, consent, and lead data between SAP Customer Data Cloud (CDC), SAP Cloud for Customer (C4C), and downstream marketing and analytics tools, using n8n as the orchestration layer. Proficiency in SAP CDC and/or C4C, combined with hands-on experience calling APIs directly, is essential for this role.

The role involves building and maintaining n8n workflows, mapping and transforming data between systems, and monitoring integrations within a client-facing environment.

Responsibilities

Integration & Workflow Development

• Build and maintain n8n workflows between SAP CDC and SAP C4C using webhooks and REST/OData APIs – registrations to accounts, contacts, and leads, consent, and profile updates, and reverse sync where needed.
• Design every workflow for failure: error branches, retries, idempotency, and duplicate prevention.
• Support CDC configuration at integration level (schemas, and screen-sets only where the flows require it).

Data Mapping & Quality

• Define, document, and maintain field mappings, deduplication rules, and consent and preference handling in a single place.
• Hand over clean, reliable data to downstream tools such as BlueConic, GA4 / BigQuery, and dotDigital.

Monitoring & Documentation

• Monitor, log, and alert on failed syncs, and troubleshoot issues to resolution.
• Keep all workflows exported to version control and documented; test against a sandbox tenant before production.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field (a plus, not a requirement).

Experience

• Mid-level role: 2–4 years of experience in SAP CDC / C4C projects or API-based system integration.

Technical Skills

Required

• Working knowledge of SAP CDC and/or SAP C4C and their data models (accounts, contacts, leads, consent), this is a must-have; candidates without it are not a fit for this role.
• Hands-on experience calling REST or OData APIs directly (Postman, curl, or scripts), including JSON, webhooks, and authentication flows (OAuth, signed requests).
• Basic scripting in JavaScript or Python for data transformation.
• Understanding of GDPR consent and preference data handling.

Nice to Have

• Experience with n8n or a comparable tool (Make, Workato). n8n itself will be taught on the job.
• Exposure to SOAP/XML, SAP CPI, Git, or self-hosting (Docker).
• Exposure to BlueConic, GA4 / BigQuery, or marketing automation platforms.
