Job description

About the Position

We are seeking a Customer Success Manager to join our team in San Francisco. This role is pivotal for managing relationships and commercial outcomes for enterprise energy buyers after they sign with us. Verse is at the forefront of building the energy intelligence platform for the AI economy, and we need a dedicated professional to help us achieve our mission.

Responsibilities

  • Own the relationship, adoption, and commercial outcomes for a book of enterprise accounts from signature onward.
  • Drive revenue retention by leading renewals, protecting gross retention, and identifying and closing in-footprint expansion.
  • Serve as a trusted energy advisor, guiding customers on PPA/VPPA portfolio management, invoice and settlement validation, generation forecasting, availability and production guarantees, and REC/EAC management.
  • Run executive business reviews, build account health scoring, and manage senior stakeholder relationships up the org chart.
  • Translate the platform’s analytical outputs into clear business value and confident reporting for your customers.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Sales on closed-won transitions and expansion, with Delivery on onboarding and implementation quality, and with Product to channel voice-of-customer into the roadmap.
  • Be a driving force in Verse’s move into real-time dispatch intelligence and battery storage optimization as those products scale.
  • Own your metrics such as revenue retention, renewal rate, customer health, and referenceable customers.

Requirements

  • 4+ years in customer success, account management, or client-facing advisory/consulting - ideally in energy, cleantech, or enterprise SaaS.
  • Deep, working knowledge of renewable energy procurement: PPAs/VPPAs, RECs/EACs, and wholesale power markets (e.g., ERCOT, PJM, MISO, SPP).
  • A track record managing large enterprise relationships and owning retention and expansion outcomes.
  • Comfort with data and analytics able to interrogate technical outputs and turn them into a business narrative.
  • Outstanding executive communication, and the instinct to ask the probing questions that surface what a customer actually needs.
  • A builder’s mindset comfortable operating with ambiguity in a startup, and willing to travel to customers (~20–30%).

Nice to Have

  • Exposure to real-time energy markets, dispatch optimization, battery storage, or energy trading.
  • A background in energy advisory or asset management.
  • Experience helping stand up a customer success function.

We Offer

  • Competitive base salary range: $115,000 - $150,000
  • Comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental and vision insurance, and 401k
  • Flexible hours, fully remote position, and unlimited PTO
  • Diverse and inclusive working environment
