Salary and Market Range 2026
Cybersecurity Specialist at the mid-level earns in Poland 14000–22000 PLN gross/month on an employment contract, and on a B2B contract rates reach 130–180 PLN/h net. The range of the brackets results from several measurable factors:
- Location - Warsaw and remote work for foreign companies at the upper end of the brackets, smaller centers 10–15% lower
- Industry - financial sector, fintech and gaming pay 15–25% above the market average
- Certifications - OSCP or CISSP increase the rate by 2000–3500 PLN/month
- Specialization - cloud security, red teaming and DevSecOps are the best-paid niches
- Experience - full 5 years and documented handling of critical incidents push the offer to the upper limit
The standard benefits package includes private medical care, a training budget of 5000–10000 PLN annually for certifications, a sports card, group insurance, and flexible or fully remote working. Increasingly, companies offer additional days off after on-call shifts and funding for home equipment.
How Cooperation with Smartways.io Works
We fill IT security positions by combining direct headhunting with technical verification conducted by our consultants with SOC experience. The process is transparent and divided into stages with a specific implementation time:
- Needs and profile analysis - workshop with the hiring manager, determining the stack and budget (1–2 days)
- Search and direct search - reaching out to passive candidates, initial screening interviews (5–8 days)
- Technical verification - practical task or competency interview with a security expert (3–5 days)
- Shortlist presentation - 3–4 verified candidates with a report and recommendation (1–2 days)
- Support in finalization - coordination of final interviews, offer negotiation, and onboarding (3–5 days)
The entire process typically closes within 3–4 weeks from the signing of the cooperation agreement. For the filled position, we provide a recruitment guarantee - in case of candidate departure during the trial period, we conduct a new search at no additional cost.
FAQ – Common Questions about the Cybersecurity Specialist Position
How much does it cost to recruit a Cybersecurity Specialist in the success fee model?
We settle in the success fee model, calculated as a percentage of the candidate's annual gross salary, payable only after employment. The exact rate is determined during the workshop - it depends on the difficulty level of the profile and location.
Can you find a cybersecurity specialist for remote work for an international team?
Yes. Most of the cybersecurity specialist recruitments we handle are done remotely or hybrid, including for foreign companies requiring English at B2+ level and experience in distributed environments.
Which certifications most increase the value of a candidate for Cybersecurity Specialist?
At the mid-level, the most impact on the brackets are OSCP (for offensive profile), CySA+ and Security+ (for SOC), and cloud certifications AWS Security Specialty and Azure Security Engineer. At the senior level, CISSP is highly valued.
How does a Cybersecurity Specialist differ from a Network Engineer?
A Network Engineer designs and maintains network infrastructure, while a Cybersecurity Specialist focuses on its protection, threat detection, and incident response. The roles often collaborate - if you need both profiles, we also handle network engineer recruitment.
How long does it take to fill a Cybersecurity Specialist position?
The standard time from project start to shortlist presentation is 8–12 days, and the full process closure with offer finalization takes 3–4 weeks. For very narrow niches (e.g., red teaming), the timeline may extend to 5 weeks.
Do you verify the technical skills of candidates before presentation?
Each candidate on the shortlist undergoes technical verification conducted by a consultant with IT security experience - a practical task or in-depth competency interview. You receive a report with a recommendation, not just a CV.
