Job Description, Responsibilities & Requirements

About the Position

EVA CHARGERS LLC is a Ukrainian developer and manufacturer producing home and commercial charging stations for electric vehicles.

As part of the expansion of our service department, we are looking for a Field Service Engineer who will diagnose, service, install, and repair charging infrastructure in the assigned region.

We consider candidates with practical experience in electrical, electronics, or maintenance fields, as well as professionals with technical education who want to learn, work according to regulations, and grow with the team.

Purpose of the Role

High-quality on-site service for charging stations, quick resolution of technical issues at customer sites, and effective collaboration with the technical support team.

An important part of the role is to timely and comprehensively record the results of the work done in tickets, CRM system, or other internal systems of the company.

Responsibilities

  • Performing technical maintenance work in accordance with technical specifications, internal guidelines, and company regulations.
  • Diagnosing motor stations, cable lines, individual modules, electronic components, and auxiliary equipment.
  • Performing installation, repair, and preventive maintenance work in accordance with the requirements of relevant standards and technical documents.
  • Conducting electrical measurements using professional measuring equipment.
  • Checking the condition of connectors, contact quality, cable junctions, grounding, and communication modules.
  • Flashing or updating the software of charging station components at the operating site.
  • Providing comprehensive and structured information to the technical support engineer after the completion of work.
  • Compiling reports based on the results of the on-site visit, noting the actions taken, detected faults, materials used, photographic evidence, and recommendations.

Typical On-Site Tasks

  • Cleaning and checking electrical and signal contacts.
  • Checking cables for breaks, insulation damage, or incorrect connectors.
  • Installing or dismantling charging stations in accordance with technical requirements.
  • Checking power supply parameters, grounding, and connection quality.
  • Working with measuring devices:
    • Multimeter;
    • Grounding testers;
    • Megohmmeter;
    • Other devices as needed.
  • Diagnosing the functionality of mobile communication/SIM module/network connection.
  • Updating the firmware of charging station components via a laptop.
  • Initial fault location and data transmission to the technical support team for further analysis.
  • Other maintenance and diagnostic work according to technical specifications.

Requirements

  • Technical education or relevant practical experience in electrical, electronics, maintenance, or installation work.
  • Own car and at least one year of driving experience.
  • Ability to use a computer, laptop, basic office programs, and spreadsheet programs.
  • Elementary understanding of the operation of electrical devices, AC/DC circuits, as well as single-phase and three-phase electrical networks.
  • Ability to read technical instructions, perform work according to regulations, and record results.
  • Analytical thinking: ability to ask clarifying questions, verify facts, and avoid unfounded conclusions.
  • Responsibility, discipline, and attention to detail.
  • Willingness to travel and communicate with clients/site representatives.
  • Stress resistance and ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously within set priorities.

Nice to Have

  • Experience working with electric vehicle charging stations.
  • Experience working with electric vehicles or charging infrastructure.
  • Understanding of the OCPP protocol.
  • Practical experience in electrical installation, electronics, automation, or maintenance and repair.
  • Experience with measuring equipment.

Expectations

  • Compliance with company internal guidelines, technical regulations, and quality standards.
  • Accurate processing and reporting of information after each site visit.
  • Complete and accurate filling out of tickets: problem description, steps taken, test results, photos, conclusions.
  • Immediate notification to technical support of any unusual situations, risks, or impossibility of performing work within the framework of regulations.
  • Responsible attitude towards equipment, tools, and company reputation.
