About the Position
Data Architect
Location: Preston, Lancashire, England
Salary: Up to £85,000 per annum + benefits
Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent
Work Location Type: Hybrid
Responsibilities
- Define and maintain the organisation's data architecture framework
- Design and integrate data solutions across multiple platforms and systems
- Lead data modelling, data flows, and system interoperability initiatives
- Drive best practice in data governance, metadata, and quality standards
- Translate business requirements into effective technical solutions
- Collaborate with architecture, engineering, and business teams to deliver value
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and data management standards
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Data Architect or in a senior data-focused role
- Strong background in data modelling, integration, and architecture frameworks
- Solid understanding of:
- Data governance & metadata management
- Enterprise architecture principles
- Regulatory and compliance requirements
- Experience with modern data platforms and cloud technologies
- Ability to engage with senior stakeholders and communicate complex ideas clearly
Nice to Have
- Experience with Unity Catalog or Microsoft Purview
- Knowledge of Terraform, CI/CD, and DevOps practices
- Exposure to MLflow, AI, or machine learning solutions
- Databricks certifications
