About the Position
We are seeking a Data Architect specializing in AI/ML to design scalable data architectures and ML workflows on AWS. You will own the end-to-end architecture of enterprise data platforms that support advanced analytics and machine learning. This role combines hands-on technical depth with architectural leadership and regular engagement with business and technical stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Design scalable, secure, and cost-efficient data architectures on AWS (Glue, Redshift, and related services) for analytics and ML workloads
- Define data models, pipelines, and integration patterns for structured and unstructured data
- Architect ML lifecycle workflows: feature engineering, training, validation, deployment, monitoring, and retraining
- Lead the development of predictive analytics solutions using Python/R, TensorFlow, or PyTorch
- Build and optimize large-scale data processing jobs using Spark, SQL, Pandas, NumPy, and SciPy
- Establish data governance, quality, lineage, and security standards, including alignment with regional regulatory requirements (e.g., UAE data protection rules)
- Create dashboards and data visualization layers that turn model outputs into business insights
- Set engineering standards for version control, code review, and CI/CD (Git-based workflows)
- Mentor data engineers and data scientists, and review designs and code
- Translate business requirements into technical roadmaps and present architecture decisions to senior stakeholders
- Evaluate new tools, frameworks, and cloud services and recommend adoption where they add value
Requirements
- 10-15 years of experience in data architecture, data engineering, or advanced analytics, with at least 3-4 years in AI/ML-focused solutions
- Strong programming skills in Python and/or R
- Hands-on experience with Machine Learning and Predictive Analytics
- Proficiency with Pandas, NumPy, and SciPy
- Deep experience with AWS Glue and Amazon Redshift
- Advanced SQL and experience with Apache Spark
- Practical experience with TensorFlow and/or PyTorch
- Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, QuickSight, or Python libraries)
- Proficiency with Git and collaborative development practices
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Statistics, or a related field
Nice to Have
- AWS certifications (Solutions Architect, Data Analytics, or Machine Learning Specialty)
- Experience with MLOps tooling (e.g., SageMaker, MLflow, Airflow)
- Exposure to generative AI / LLM-based solutions
- Experience delivering projects in the GCC or MENA region
- Consulting or client-facing delivery experience
Soft Skills
- Clear communication with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Structured problem solving and sound architectural judgment
- Ability to lead, mentor, and work independently in a remote or distributed setup
- Fluency in English
We Offer
- Opportunity to work with cutting-edge AI/ML technologies
- Collaborative and innovative work environment
- Competitive compensation package
- Flexible working hours and remote work options
