We are looking for a Data Center Technician to join our team in Point Claire, Quebec, CA. This role is a Contract position with a salary range of $23.00 - $25.00 per hour.

Responsibilities

• Maintain uptime for data centers by responding to infrastructure events and hardware issues.
• Respond to high-severity tickets within SLA.
• Participate in power and cooling events.
• Perform server and network device break-fix.
• Troubleshoot network connections.

Requirements

• French screening needed, solid English skills (bilingual).
• Must have a vehicle.
• Must have reliability or 5+ years in Canada.
• 1 - 3 years of hardware networking skills/entry level.
• Good communication skills (oral and written).
• Troubleshoot CPU, maintenance on break-fix activity, motherboard, hard drive, memory, power shelves (PSU/ power supplies).
• Maintain, repair, and replace hardware.
• Replace servers.
• Replace parts.
• Troubleshoot error messages.
• Diagnose issues with hardware.

Nice to Have

• Software - Windows (Linux is a plus).
• Scripting is a plus.
• Prior data center exposure.

About the Company

As a Data Center Technician, you are a primary resolver for your support team, skilled at troubleshooting and resolving most complex hardware infrastructure issues. You create and maintain documentation on technologies you support and are able to effectively pass down knowledge of these technologies to junior staff. You have basic to intermediate system administration skills and, where applicable, are able to take on remote system administration tasks working in a virtual team.

You have the ability to automate tasks with scripts when necessary. You work autonomously to resolve most support issues. You are able to execute small projects on your own, and work with your manager in planning and executing larger local projects. You act as the initial escalation point for junior technicians. You understand all aspects of the equipment you support.

You know how to innovate and make decisions on your own, but also know how to take direction when it is given, paying attention to all details involved.
