About the Position
We are seeking a skilled Data Engineer with 4+ years of experience in Spark and Scala to work with a global leader in IP intelligence and fraud detection. The USA-based company provides global geolocation data and services worldwide.
Responsibilities
- Working productively within an AGILE team environment
- Assisting in planning and prioritizing jobs as part of the development team
- Designing and developing product applications
- Building data systems
- Writing, testing, and debugging code for new and existing software products
- Responding promptly to bug reports and production issues
- Developing tools and applications by producing clean, efficient code
- Reviewing and debugging code
- Collaborating with internal teams to fix and improve products
- Documenting code and assisting in testing and QA of systems
- Ensuring software is up-to-date with the latest technologies
Requirements
- 4+ years of Spark and Scala experience
- Experience working with huge databases and batch processing datasets with billions of records
- Experience with building and writing software from scratch (full SDLC)
- Experience with Big Data using Spark and Scala
- Real-time streaming with Kinesis, Kafka, or similar services
- 3+ years working with SQL and relational databases
- 3+ years working in Amazon Web Services (AWS) or similar cloud providers
- A self-motivated learner who is willing to self-teach
- Self-starter who can maintain a team-centered outlook
- GIS/Geospatial tools/analysis experience working with geolocation data
