About the Team

Toyota is redefining mobility by enhancing the movement of people, goods, information, and energy. Woven City serves as a test course for mobility, powered by carbon-free energy including renewable power and hydrogen. This team is responsible for launching and maintaining a hydrogen demonstration environment at Woven City and conducting demonstrations outside Woven City, collaborating with various stakeholders, and developing business models and strategies.


Responsibilities

  • Work with cross-functional teams, various service project owners, third parties, software and hardware engineers to define requirements for data pipelines and storage
  • Support the development of Hydrogen related software products by developing traceable data and support API integration with relevant SW/HW applications
  • Ensure traceability on data (e.g., data source, when loaded/modified)
  • Ensure data quality and availability for report generation and analytics
  • Manage data pipelines and storage
  • Define data architecture, clean and transform necessary data

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in information engineering, data science, computer science, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience
  • 3-5+ years of experience in data engineering and ability to create design documents for databases
  • Expertise in data cleaning and creating traceable, standard formatted databases from large volumes of data across multiple sources
  • Expertise in designing data architecture, building data pipelines, designing and maintaining data warehouse for reporting and analytics
  • Experience working with cloud data storage solutions (e.g., AWS, Azure etc.)
  • Experience with APIs (REST) connecting backend and front end systems with databases
  • Proficiency in business level Japanese and advanced English with a passion to develop English skill

Nice to Have

  • Master’s degree in information engineering, data science, computer science, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience
  • Experience in the software product development for the energy management system, electric power systems
  • Data modeling techniques (e.g., data vault 2.0)
  • Professional experience in web application development using Python (Django, Flask, FastAPI etc.) or Java (Spring etc.) with DB (PostgreSQL, Oracle, MySQL, etc.)
  • Experience in control systems
  • Experience working with operational data systems / equipment related
  • Ability to learn new domains as needed
  • Proficiency in business level English
