About the Position
Data Engineer - Lancashire
A leading organization is looking to appoint a Principal Data Engineer to lead the design, development, and evolution of its enterprise data platform. This is an exciting opportunity to shape the organization's data engineering capability, driving the adoption of modern cloud technologies including Microsoft Fabric and Azure Data Services.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain enterprise-scale data platforms, pipelines, and ETL/ELT solutions using Microsoft Fabric and Azure Data Services
- Lead the architecture and implementation of modern cloud-based data engineering solutions
- Define data engineering standards, best practices, and governance across the organization
- Develop scalable data models and integration solutions to support business intelligence and analytics
- Ensure data platforms are secure, resilient, and aligned with compliance and governance requirements
Requirements
- Commercial experience designing and delivering enterprise-scale data engineering solutions
- Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Services, and cloud-based data platforms
- Advanced SQL skills with experience in data modeling, ETL/ELT development, and data integration
- Experience designing scalable, secure, and high-performing data architectures
- Strong understanding of data governance, security, compliance, and best practices
We Offer
- Salary: £55,000 to £60,000 GBP per year
- Employment Type: Permanent
- Location: Preston, England (Hybrid)
