The Role

We are looking for a Data Platform Engineer to join our team and design, build, and operate enterprise-scale data and AI platforms that power modern analytics, AI, and data-driven solutions.

In this role, you will be responsible for building and integrating scalable data platform services using technologies such as Confluent, Databricks, dbt, and OpenMetadata. You will work closely with Data Engineering, AI, Platform, and DevOps teams to deliver secure, reliable, and well-governed data infrastructure, enabling self-service capabilities, metadata management, and high-performance data operations across the organization.

What You’ll Do

• Design, build, and operate reliable, scalable, and secure data and AI platform services.
• Develop self-service capabilities that empower engineering, analytics, and AI teams.
• Implement and maintain metadata management, data lineage, and governance frameworks to ensure high data quality and discoverability.
• Monitor, optimize, and continuously improve platform availability, performance, and operational excellence.
• Drive platform efficiency through performance optimization, workload management, and cost-effective infrastructure practices.

Requirements

• Hands-on experience with CDC replication and event streaming, preferably using Confluent and Apache Kafka.
• Strong knowledge of data lake architectures, including Databricks, Delta Lake, and Unity Catalog.
• Experience with metadata management, including data cataloging, lineage, data quality, and context management.
• Proficiency in data orchestration and engineering automation using tools such as Airflow, Dagster, or dbt.
• Solid background in platform engineering and DevOps, including Kubernetes, Docker, CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and platform monitoring.
• Experience implementing data protection and security best practices, including PII handling, data masking, access controls, and governance policies.
• Strong understanding of platform observability, incident response, and operational support for production environments.
• Experience optimizing platform performance, workload management, and infrastructure costs.
• Experience working in banking, financial services, or other regulated enterprise environments is a strong plus.
• Must have: Practical experience using AI-assisted development tools and implementing context-aware and agentic data workflows in production environments.

Nice to Have

• Experience working in banking, financial services, or other highly regulated industries.
• Experience supporting large-scale enterprise data platforms.
• Hands-on experience with both modern (e.g., Databricks, Delta Lake) and traditional enterprise data platforms (e.g., Oracle, Informatica).
• Familiarity with enterprise data governance and compliance requirements.
