Data Platform Engineering Manager (Cloud)
Location: Warszawa
Work Model: Hybrid (minimum 1 day per week in the office)
About the Role:
This is an opportunity for an experienced Data Engineering Manager or Technical Lead who wants to stay close to technology while developing leadership skills and having a real impact on the architecture and strategy of the data platform.
In this role, you will be responsible for both the technical development of the Data Platform and for leading the team and improving engineering processes.
Responsibilities Distribution:
- 50% - Technical work (Hands-on Data Engineering)
- 25% - Team management
- 25% - Process and work organization development
Team: 9 Data Engineers (Warszawa and Barcelona)
Responsibilities
- Designing and developing a modern data platform operating in a cloud environment
- Co-creating the architecture of the Data Platform and the long-term strategy for its development
- Designing scalable data pipelines and solutions based on Lakehouse, Data Mesh, and Event-Driven Architecture
- Building and developing real-time data processing and CDC-based solutions
- Ensuring high availability, performance, security, and quality of the data platform
- Defining and implementing Data Governance standards and best practices in Data Engineering
- Developing team competencies through mentoring, coaching, and technical support
- Close collaboration with architects, Data Scientists, and business stakeholders in implementing global initiatives
- Participation in selecting technologies and making architectural decisions affecting platform development
Requirements
We are looking for someone who has:
- Minimum 8 years of experience in Data Engineering
- Minimum 3 years of experience in managing or technically leading a Data Engineering team
- Practical experience in designing and developing large data platforms in a cloud environment
- Experience with one of the cloud platforms: GCP (preferred), AWS, or Azure (in case of AWS/Azure – willingness to work with Google Cloud Platform)
- Very good knowledge of SQL and Python
- Experience with DBT or Dataform
- Practical knowledge of Data Warehouse and Lakehouse solutions
- Experience with BigQuery or Snowflake
- Practical experience in building pipelines based on Event-Driven Architecture and CDC
- Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (Terraform)
- Experience in implementing Data Governance and data security solutions in a cloud environment
- Experience in working with the business and managing stakeholder expectations in an international environment
- Very good knowledge of English at least at the B2 level (C1 preferred)
Additional assets will be:
- Knowledge of Google Cloud Data Analytics (BigQuery, Dataproc, Datastream)
- Experience with Data Mesh and Kappa architectures
- Experience working with Agile methodologies

Retention period: For the time necessary to complete the verification.
C. Submission of the full application to a specific Employer: sending your CV to a selected Client after presenting its identity and obtaining your confirmation of willingness to participate in the process with that specific employer.
Legal basis: Your separate consent indicating the specific employer by name (Article 6(1)(a) of the GDPR).
Retention period: Until the application is submitted to the Client (further retention is governed by the Client's own personal data protection policy).
D. Defense against claims and dispute resolution: legal protection of the Company related to the provision of recruitment services.

Retention period: Until the expiration of any potential claims under the law.

- Clients of the Agency (Potential Employers): in the minimal scope (name and surname) to verify the absence of duplicate applications (based on our legitimate interest), and in the full CV scope – only after disclosing the full name of the Client and obtaining separate consent. From the moment of providing full data, the Client becomes an independent controller of your personal data.
- Technology service providers: entities processing data on our behalf (e.g., recruitment management system providers – ATS, hosting, and email providers).
- State authorities: institutions authorized by law.
Candidate rights
You have the right to access your data, correction, deletion ("right to be forgotten"), restriction of processing, data portability, objection to processing based on legitimate interest, and the right to withdraw consent at any time. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the President of the Personal Data Protection Office.
Profiling and international transfers
As part of the candidate database, the Company may use ancillary profiling (assessment of skills, education, and experience against the criteria specified in clients' job offers). This profiling does not produce any legal effects on you and does not make fully automated decisions (the final decision to contact is always made by the recruiter). Your personal data will not be transferred to third countries outside the European Economic Area (EEA).
