About the Position

Data Scientist – NLP / Generative AI (4 to 7 years of relevant experience)

We are seeking an experienced and innovative Data Scientist specializing in Natural Language Processing (NLP) and Generative AI to join our dynamic team in Gurgaon, India. In this role, you will take a leading position in solving complex challenges for our clients, with a unique opportunity to make an impact in different domains. You will own the development of internal AI products and steer client-focused projects, architecting and deploying cutting-edge AI solutions. This is a role for a hands-on practitioner who can drive projects from concept to production and mentor fellow team members.

Responsibilities

• Design & Architect AI Solutions: Lead the end-to-end design, development, and deployment of sophisticated NLP and Generative AI solutions, leveraging Large Language Models (LLMs) to address critical business needs.
• Implement Advanced Techniques: Drive the research and implementation of state-of-the-art techniques including Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), fine-tuning (PEFT, LoRA), Agentic AI systems, and multi-modal models.
• Build Scalable Pipelines: Architect and build robust, production-grade MLOps pipelines for model deployment, including automated retraining, error management, CI/CD, and continuous monitoring.
• Ensure Model Reliability & Safety: Proactively address and mitigate challenges inherent in LLMs, such as hallucinations, bias, and latency. Implement robust model observability, guardrails, and safety protocols to ensure fairness and reliability in production.
• Optimize for Performance: Develop and implement strategies for optimizing model inference, leveraging techniques like quantization, model distillation, and efficient pipeline architecture to improve performance and manage costs.
• Collaborate and Lead: Work closely with internal teams, clients, and stakeholders in different domains to define requirements, translate business needs into technical specifications, and deliver tailored AI-powered systems.
• Mentor and Innovate: Act as a technical mentor for junior data scientists, championing best practices in AI/ML development and contributing to a culture of continuous learning and innovation.

Requirements

• Experience: 4+ years of hands-on experience in Data Science, AI/ML, or a related field, with a proven track record of delivering production-grade NLP and Generative AI solutions.
• LLM & Transformer Expertise: Deep knowledge of transformer architectures (e.g., BERT, GPT, LLaMA, Mistral) and hands-on experience with advanced fine-tuning techniques.
• RAG & Vector Databases: Strong practical experience designing and building systems using Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) with vector databases like Pinecone, Chroma, FAISS, or similar.
• Technical Proficiency: Expert-level proficiency in Python and core data science/ML libraries (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow, Hugging Face, Scikit-learn). Solid understanding of backend development principles and experience building APIs (e.g., Flask, Django) is highly desirable.
• MLOps & Cloud Skills: Hands-on experience with MLOps principles and tools, including containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and deploying scalable solutions on cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
• Problem-Solving Mindset: A strong analytical and problem-solving mindset with the ability to work independently, manage project priorities, and drive innovation from ambiguity.
