About the Position
Datacenter Networks Engineer
The team operates in a complex enterprise environment where network security, uptime, and performance are critical to ensuring optimal service for our customers. Responsibilities
- Actively contribute to an agile working environment, participating in daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and sprint reviews.
- Collaborate closely with the Product Owner and the squad to achieve shared objectives while working from a common backlog.
- Take ownership of reporting activities and provide guidance to the squad, helping steer initiatives that improve service quality and customer satisfaction.
- Proactively support other squads within the area and the broader tribe, acting as a trusted advisor when needed.
- Leverage video conferencing and collaboration tools to enable effective communication and teamwork across distributed teams.
Requirements
- Experience implementing, configuring, and modifying network infrastructure.
- Ability to make strong conceptual connections and critically assess network designs from both technical implementation and security perspectives.
- Broad knowledge of LAN, WAN, and DC environments.
- Knowledge of routing and switching protocols in a highly available environment.
- Extensive knowledge and experience with Firewall products.
- Knowledge of scripting and automation tools.
- Ability to manage (monitor, evaluate, continuously improve) Incident, Problem, Change, and Configuration Management processes.
- Technical implications of Security and Risk principles.
- Clear understanding of consumer context and needs, as well as the value-add of your service to the consumer.
- Understanding of the Scrum methodology (e.g., backlog and sprint planning, review, and marketplace).
- Strong analytical skills.
Nice to Have
- Insight and implementation of desired structural infrastructure solution.
- Creating and improving documentation and work instructions on the delivered infrastructure solution.
- Experience and preferable one or more certifications on:
- Palo Alto Networks firewalls (PCNSA/E)
- Experience in cloud deployment and infrastructure services is a plus.
- Experience or knowledge of Open Networking platforms is a plus.
- Experience with orchestration platforms such as Terraform, Ansible, Saltstack, Chef, Puppet, Azure Automation, Google Cloud Deployment Manager, AWS Cloud Formation, etc.
- Experience scripting in one or more of the following languages: Python, Bash, PowerShell, JavaScript.
- Working-level knowledge of Agile and DevOps practices.
- Knowledge of DevOps way of working (e.g., continuous delivery, cross-functional team set-ups, development of cross-skilled squad members).
