About the Position

AStime is seeking a Data Platform Engineer with 15+ years of software development experience to join our team in Toronto, Canada. Proficiency in Java, Scala, Rust, Go, Python, or TypeScript is required.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable data platforms.
• Implement data pipelines using Kafka, Spark, Flink, Airflow, Protobuf, and Parquet.
• Ensure data integrity and performance optimization.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate data solutions.

Requirements

• Experience: 15+ years in software development.
• Skills: Proficiency in Java, Scala, Rust, Go, Python, or TypeScript; familiarity with Haskell/Erlang.
• Tools: Kafka, Spark, Flink, Airflow, Protobuf, Parquet; Kubernetes and ArgoCD a plus.
• Upper English
• Location: Europe

Nice to Have

• Solid Linux skills (vi, tmux, ssh, oh-my-zsh, iptables, certbot, docker, docker-compose, etc.)
• Recent 2+ years as a data engineer (job tuning experience)
• Some DevOps/GitOps experience (Kubernetes, ArgoCD a plus)
• Enterprise environment experience
