Role mission: To ensure the full data lifecycle: from strategic project planning to guaranteeing quality and validating final results.

Responsibilities

• Planning and prioritizing dataset projects in line with the ML team’s roadmap and product goals;
• Ownership of the synthetic data generation direction - coordinating pipeline development, prioritizing scenarios, controlling the quality of generated data;
• Ownership of the manual data annotation team - hiring, onboarding, performance reviews, tool training and quality control;
• Coordinating the work of dataset engineers and the annotation team - setting tasks, tracking progress, balancing workload;
• Coordinating dataset requirements with ML engineers - converting data requirements for model training into dataset specifications and readiness criteria;
• Managing capacity and resources - forecasting volumes, redistributing workload, removing blockers;
• Tracking the quality of dataset deliverables at the project level - monitoring metrics, identifying systemic problems;
• Managing external annotation partners - vendor evaluation, contracts, quality control;
• Maintaining dataset processes and standards - workflows, documentation, SLAs;
• Reporting on dataset projects to management and the ML team - status, progress, risks, blockers;
• Continuously improving processes - annotation throughput, cycle times, error rates;
• Supporting the dataset catalog platform in terms of processes and organizational needs.

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience in a similar position
• Team management experience (direct management) - hiring, developing and building processes for working with manual annotators;
• Understanding of the ML lifecycle and experience working with data (understanding of data types, structures and processing methods);
• Understanding of synthetic data generation principles and approaches to automating data collection;
• Ability to forecast capacity, identify bottlenecks in processes and propose solutions to optimize them;
