Development Expert

About the Position

We are looking for a Development Expert to join our Industry AI unit for Energy and Natural Resources at SAP Careers. Your focus will be on the architecture, design, and technical delivery of solutions and agents in the area of metering concept management/distributed energy resources. Working side by side with a steadfast team of Product Experts who define the scope, you will translate product requirements into scalable, cloud-native software architectures and guide your development team from design to production.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver software solutions for utility customers.
• Translate product requirements and regulatory changes into concrete technical designs, implementation plans, and actionable engineering tasks.
• Lead and mentor development teams, set architectural direction, and align cross-functional stakeholders on technical trade-offs and delivery priorities.
• Drive architectural governance, evaluate technology choices, and act as the primary technical point of contact for all development teams on a day-to-day basis.
• Direct involvement with customers on technical requirements and solution design.

Requirements

• Several years of hands-on experience in software architecture and development, ideally in the utilities or energy industry.
• Exemplary knowledge of Agentic AI, SAP Business AI, and modern AI engineering capabilities.
• Exemplary knowledge of governance, security, compliance, and data and privacy considerations.
• Proven experience optimizing complex, high-throughput systems for performance and cost efficiency.
• Excellent knowledge of English.

Nice to Have

• Experience with cloud-native patterns, analytical skills, and cloud architecture.
• Familiarity with cloud security architecture, CI/CD, scalability design, semantic retrieval, systems thinking, and technical executive team.
